Working with Hyperlinks in the Translation Matrix

When links need to change depending on the document language, the Translation Matrix can be used to translate both the anchor text and the link itself based on the used language.

Create keys in the translation matrix

To create a translation for the hyperlink, 2 keys need to be created in the translation matrix:

  • One for the link

  • One for the clickable text

Create the link element inside the document

  • Click on the location where you would want to insert the link

  • Click on the Link icon on the editor bar

A new screen with the Link properties will appear. Display Text and URL fields should be filled out. Note that these are the values that will be used when translations are not enabled.

After clicking OK, a Link element will be created in the document. In order to add translation to this anchored text:

  • Choose the Link element on the breadcrumb.

  • On the right pane, under the Element tab, fill in the translation labels for the Link and Content attributes. Translation key for the URL should be referenced in the Link field and key for the text in the Content field.
